Bacteriology / Sterilization and Sanitation

The module provides students thorough understanding of types/classifications of bacteria, bacterial growth/ reproduction, viruses, infections and immunity. The module teaches students correct sterilization methods to prevent the spread of disease in a salon. Alongside, teaching levels of Decontamination used in the aesthetics industry including Sterilization, Disinfection and Sanitation. Students will gain knowledge on MSDS forms and understanding Universal Sanitation procedures.

Chemistry

The module teaches students product formulation and preparation. Students are given intense training on product knowledge, selection and key functionality of active ingredients used in the cosmetics industry.

Nutrition

The module of the program allows students to gain in depth knowledge on how various foods, diets, supplements, hormones and medications affect the well being of the human body. Students gain understanding of different key components and aspects relating to the aesthetics industry.

Anatomy/ Physiology & Cell Construction

The module trains students on the importance of anatomy and physiology to the cosmetology profession. Students gain an understanding of cell anatomy, its construction and reproduction and its effects on the skin.

Human Anatomy/Physiology

The module teaches in detail the 10 systems of the human body and their basic functions. Great emphasis is put towards understanding the skeletal and muscular system and their importance in esthetics practices.
