Being a graduate of Body Pro Beauty, there is a sense of pride, accomplishment and gratitude. BPB Grads have many things to be proud about and we want to highlight those accomplishments in this mini interview and photo shoot!
Today’s BP Beauty is Bibisara S., she graduated in 2014 and is now the “Boss Lady” of her career! Bibi completed her Aesthetics Diploma and has pursued the path of Makeup Artistry as her main gig. With her focus of Bridal and Event Makeup, her business is growing to unstoppable measures.
This is what Bibi has to stay about her career now:
- What is your Passion? What inspired you to be in this industry?
I am from the Middle East and I have always been around women who wear a lot of makeup and red carpet gowns to events. I have had passion for makeup from a very early age. I always found myself going through my mother’s makeup and always applied makeup on my younger sisters. But I wasn’t too sure if that is what I wanted to do as a career. I realized my love for makeup when I started to take lesson at Body Pro Beauty & Aesthetics Academy Inc. The instructors encouraged me on a daily basis to play with makeup; they were my inspiration to be in this industry.
- Why/How did you initially choose to be a student at Body Pro?
I was searching for beauty school and had visited a few before I came across Body Pro. I wasn’t happy with how the other school looked or what I heard from the instructors while speaking to them. I was disappointed and upon visiting beauty school in Brampton and was on my way home. I suddenly saw a flashing light in front of Pro and I decided to make a sharp turn into the school and inquire about the school. As I entered it was definitely love at first sight. It almost felt as if I was in a spa in downtown Toronto. I loved how it smelled. I was also very impressed with one of the instructor behind the counter. She looked very presentable, dressed professionally and had perfect hair, makeup and nails.
- When you graduated how did you feel?
I was prepared when I graduated. I had the knowledge and the skill and most importantly I had my kit ready to use. I still have to learn on a daily basis and am taking online courses to keep up with the industry. But I didn’t have any fear to face clients in this industry because I was well prepared for all the pros and cons.
- Where are you now since you graduated?
I am in the industry as a makeup artist. I have paired up with another girl who does hair with me. I have clients from all over GTA. I have a studio at home for trials but I travelled to my clients most of the time. My business has grown from last year from doing party makeup to now bridal makeup. I have been doing trials for bridal the whole month of January.
5. What advise would you give a potential student looking to get started in this industry?
The advices I have for those who wants to join this industry are that you would have to be completely focused. It is not going to be easy it took me a lot of daily practice with different faces. We have done many shoots in the past year which helped me to perfect my makeup for brides who are constantly in front of the camera. We have to constantly check what makeup artist who are big in the industry are doing, for example, makeupbylilit, sameet khozami, dress your face. We not only follow them but I also try to re create their looks on my models. It has been a constant look out for products that last long and stays on all day according to client’s skin type. We have to present myself and my business with customer satisfactions.
Before we leave our clients we have to make sure they are all completely happy with our services if not we have to make sure they are happy. We have to make sure we send out for clients or there are many makeup and hair artists they can choose for their services. We dress appropriately and present ourselves in professional manner.
We are so proud of Bibi and what she has accomplished! She has proven that the future is always bright as long as you believe in it! And we are quite sure there is much more to come from Bibi’s career!
